Fans React To Adrian Peterson Child Abuse Indictment

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Vikings fans are reacting to the news, but many were hesitant to talk about the indictment, saying the topic is too sensitive.

Reactions were mixed.

Sarah Wiech's jaw dropped when she learned Adrian Peterson was indicted on child abuse charges.

"That's sad to me, being such an idol and somebody so many people look up to," Wiech said.

Other people are still in disbelief their favorite player could be in the middle of this type of controversy.

"Was very disappointed, very sad," Patty VanTatenhove said.

"He's great. He's kind of a role model for everybody, all the young kids. To hear that kind of blows you away," Gary VanTatenhove said.

Without question number 28 is one of the best running backs in the league.

Chris Slice thinks the Vikings jumped the gun deactivating Peterson for this Sunday's match-up against the Patriots.

"He didn't do anything bad, he just disciplined his kid in a way that, you know, most people don't even know what a switch is," Slice said.

The Cronin brothers flew from Massachusetts for the game.

"I did a lot of dumb things as a kid," Jerry Cronin said. "Did I ever get a kick in the butt? Yes I did, and should be somebody be suspended for that? I don't agree with what they did."

"You always want to see the best players on the field and the Vikings may not have the best players on the field Sunday," Frank Cronin said.
