Ex-Cop Pleads Guilty To Criminal Sexual Conduct Involving Minors

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 33-year-old Andover man and former Minneapolis police officer has pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct involving minors Monday.

The Anoka County Attorney's Office said Bradley James Schnickel pleaded guilty in Anoka County Court to charges of criminal sexual conduct, attempted criminal sexual conduct and engaging in electronic communications relating to or describing sexual conduct with a child.

Schnickel admitted to contacting minors through online communication and social media while posing as a younger man.

"This is a horrible situation where the defendant's actions affected many lives and has led to serious impacts to these young victims," Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo said. "I hope today's admission of guilt helps them begin to recover from this devastating situation."

Schnickel will be sentenced in the case on May 12.
