Ely Announces Electric Paddle Just In Time For April Fools' Day
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's the day when you have to question just about everything you hear. The first day of April, or better known as April Fools' Day.
One Minnesota community is known for its pranks.
In recent years, Ely has announced bids for the Olympics, a social media ban and a ban on drones. In the past, it has also announced the launch of a 24-hour cable channel to promote tourism in the community.
The big news today, they're introducing The Original Ely Electric Paddle.
They call it the best thing to ever happen to canoeing because it does all the work, so you can relax in your canoe and enjoy the Boundary Waters.
Other companies have followed suit with their own April Fools' jokes.
Como Zoo announced it will trade out its giraffes for alpacas. The zoo announce it would trade four giraffes for four alpacas and a bushel of Granny Smith Apples from "Big Al's Apples & Aplaca Farm" in Kandiyohi county.
The Growler Magazine sent out a tweet claiming Dangerous Man had sold a majority of its stake to AB InBev.

Uber said they are beginning rides on UberSKYWAY. Users could take pedicabs throughout the Minneapolis Skyway system with the app.
A sad April Fools' Joke came from the University of Minnesota, who claimed beloved mascot Goldy was retiring.
White Castle told its customers that it will now deliver Crave Cases via drone. The fast food chain would employ a fleet of 1,500 "Crave Copters" top drop cases across the United States. The crave cases would only be of The Original Slider.
