Police: 1 Seriously Hurt In Eagan Crash

EAGAN, Minn. (WCCO) – One person was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Eagan Wednesday morning, according to police.

The Eagan Police and Fire Departments were called to the crash at about 7:39 a.m. involving two vehicles at the intersection of Diffley Road and Nicols Road. When authorities arrived, they learned a 30-year-old woman driving a Ford Edge was heading west on Diffley Road and broadsided a Mazda 5 being driven by a 44-year-old woman.

Police say the Mazda 5 was turning from eastbound Diffley Road to northbound Nicols Road when it was hit. The drivers were the only occupants of each vehicle.

The 44-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital. The 30-year-old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was also taken to Regions Hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the Eagan Police Department on investigating what led up to the crash.
