Duluth Police Arrest 3rd Escapee

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Duluth police have arrested a third man who escaped from the Northeastern Minnesota Regional Corrections Center last week.

Officers found 22-year-old Tyler Sandstrom at a home in Duluth and arrested him without incident Wednesday.

Sandstrom was taken to the St. Louis County Jail. His 21-year-old girlfriend was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting escape and also taken to jail.

Sandstrom was the last of the three escapees who was still at large.

Eveleth police say 24-year-old Ryan Locke, being held on a terroristic threat conviction, was arrested over the weekend following a chase in a stolen vehicle on Highway 53 from Eveleth to Hermantown. Meanwhile, 25-year-old Anthony Kozar, being held at the minimum security prison on a probation violation, was arrested Sunday after a 5-hour standoff in Eveleth.
