Duluth, Minneapolis Rank Among Top 10 Most Livable U.S. Cities

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new survey ranking the most livable cities in the country placed Duluth, Minnesota at the very top of the list.

Outdoor Magazine unveiled the results of its "Best Town Ever" contest and argued that no amount of Minnesota cold can keep the people of Duluth indoors, with 6,834 acres of city parkland, 178 miles of wooded trails, and 16 designated trout streams.

Provo, Utah ranked second on their list, but another Minnesota city earned the bronze medal. Minneapolis ranked third.

Outdoor Magazine noted the city's 6,700 acres of park, 20 lakes and more than 70 miles of trails, all within city limits.

Rounding out the top five were Anchorage, Alaska and Ithaca, New York. La Crosse, Wis. just missed the top ten, ranking 11th on the magazine's list.
