Duluth Man Accused Of Fatally Stabbing His Mother
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 37-year-old Duluth man is accused of fatally stabbing his mother earlier this week.
Carmen Emigdio Mosqueda appeared in court Thursday. He is charged with intentional second-degree murder in the death of his 71-year-old mother, Mary Margaret Mosqueda, the St. Louis County Attorney's Office said.
Police found the victim's body in her Duluth home shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday. She appeared to have suffered several stab wounds on her chest and neck, and officers found two knives near her body.
Her son had called police. When officers arrived at the home, he voluntarily placed his hands behind his back, indicating he should be handcuffed, the attorney's office said.
As officers handcuffed him, they saw traces of blood on his hands.
