DPS Reminds Football Fans To Plan Sober Ride

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Officials with the Department of Public Safety are reminding football fans to plan ahead for a sober ride if they will be drinking during Super Bowl festivities.

Authorities are stepping up drunken driving enforcement on Sunday.

Minnesota hasn't seen an alcohol-related fatality on Super Bowl Sunday for the last five years.

Officials with the DPS Office of Traffic Safety are hoping to keep that streak going for a sixth straight year.

Authorities say it's important to use a designated driver or use a taxi or public transportation if intoxicated.

And, they say, motorists and passengers should always buckle up.
