Woman dies after knife attack in downtown Duluth, police say
DULUTH, Minn. — Police are searching for the person who fatally stabbed a woman early Friday morning in downtown Duluth.
Officers were called to the area of West First Street and South First Avenue at about 2:15 a.m. on a report of gunfire and a possible stabbing.
They found the victim at the scene suffering from a stab wound to her neck, and she soon died at an area hospital. She was identified as 25-year-old Chantel Moose.
A male showed up at the hospital soon after with a gunshot wound, but "left against medical advice," according to police. It's unclear if the male victim was related to the deadly stabbing.

Mayor Roger Reinert released a statement Friday morning expressing his condolences to the victim's loved ones.
"We will have all means at our disposal to find those responsible for this tragic incident and hold them accountable for their actions," Reinert said.
On Friday, police executed a search warrant at Kinglsey Heights for a person of interest. They interviewed the person, and Duluth police say they're continuing to investigate the incident. Authorities believe the stabbing was an "isolated event" between two people who knew each other.
