DNR, MDHA Host Listening Sessions For Deer Hunters
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association will host a series of listening sessions for deer hunters to learn more about the state of deer after this year's winter.
"We've been hearing that deer numbers are too low and this year's severe winter is exacerbating those concerns in many regions of the state," said Leslie McInenly, DNR big game program leader. "These listening sessions will give deer hunters and the general public an opportunity to communicate directly with DNR staff who make deer management decisions."
Sessions are scheduled for the following dates:
-- Wednesday, March 19 at Central Lakes Community College cafeteria, 501 West College Drive, Brainerd.
-- Thursday, March 20, Anoka Ramsey Community College rooms G201 and G202, 300 Spirit River Drive South, Cambridge
-- Monday, March 24, Bemidji High School auditorium, 2900 Division St. West, Bemidji
--Tuesday, March 25, University of Minnesota's West Central Research and Outreach Center, 46352 Minnesota Highway 329, Morris.
--Thursday, March 27, Nicollet Conservation Club, 46045 471st Lane, Nicollet.
