Body found near Byron City Hall ID'd as missing man Wade Gordon Jr.

BYRON, Minn. – Police say a man found dead Monday near a southern Minnesota city hall had been missing for more than a week.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said the man was identified as Wade Gordon Jr., who was last seen leaving his job in the early hours of July 7.

Gordon was found dead during a search near Byron City Hall after someone reported hearing "suspicious noises," according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.

Byron is about 10 miles west of Rochester.
