Delays, Cancellations For Delta Passengers Continue Wednesday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – More delays and cancellations are expected for Delta Airlines Wednesday after a computer outage crippled the airlines system Monday.

More than 1,500 flights have been canceled since Monday morning.

As of 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Delta announced 30 flights were cancelled and 15 were delayed.

On Tuesday, Delta's chief operating officer said a critical piece of equipment failed at the airline's Atlanta headquarters, causing a loss of power.

Key systems and equipment did not switch over to backups like they were supposed to.

The airline said the systems are now back up, but they're running slow.

Delta is offering $200 in travel vouchers to anyone whose flights were canceled or delayed by at least 3 hours.
