Delta Air Lines Offers 'Pet Tracking' Device

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Pet owners know that traveling can be stressful.

You either have to find someone to take care of your furry family member, or take them with you.

And if you're flying, that's a whole other level of stress.

If your dog or cat is too big to fit under the seat in front of you, they have to go into the cargo space of a plane.

But now, Delta is offering a little more reassurance. Starting Wednesday, the airline will offer what they say is the first pet-tracking device.

You'll be able to monitor your pet in real time, from the temperature to even how the animal is sitting in its crate or cage.

The service costs $50. Right now, it's only available at 10 airports, including Minneapolis-St. Paul International.
