Delegation Members Want Hibbing VA Inquiry
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Several members of Minnesota's congressional delegation are calling for an investigation of alleged misconduct at a Veterans' Affairs clinic in Hibbing.
Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken and Reps. Tim Walz and Rick Nolan asked the VA's inspector general to look into claims by some ex-employees that they were ordered to backdate appointment records to make waits appear shorter.
The claims echo reports from some other VA facilities around the country.
Sterling Medical Associates runs the clinic. Both Sterling and VA say there's no evidence of current tampering, and Sterling denied ever ordering any schedule falsifications.
