1 dead in north Minneapolis shooting, police say

MPD investigating deadly north side shooting

MINNEAPOLIS — Police in Minneapolis have confirmed one person is dead following a shooting on the city's north side Thursday afternoon.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 3900 block of Sheridan Avenue North around 4:39 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the man died at the scene.

Investigators say the man had been in a parked car when he was fatally shot. Bystanders had pulled him from the car and performed CPR while waiting for first responders.

Police found multiple bullet casings nearby.

No arrests have been made and the shooting is under investigation.
