Dayton Woman Severely Injured By Lightning Strike ID'd

HAM LAKE, Minn. (AP/WCCO) — A Dayton woman has been severely injured by lightning while watching a youth baseball game in Anoka County.

Sheriff's Cmdr. Paul Sommer says the 48-year-old was watching a game at Lion's Park on Saturday afternoon when a thunderstorm moved into the area. She was near a tree when the thunderbolt knocked her unconscious.

Bystanders began performing CPR, and emergency responders who took over found that she had no pulse and wasn't breathing. They were able to resuscitate her on the way to the hospital.

On Sunday afternoon, the woman was identified by Sommer as 48-year-old Christine Anne Kloeppner.

Sommer didn't immediately return a message Sunday inquiring about the woman's condition.
