Dayton Meets With Lt. Gov. About Fall Ballot Plan

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota Lt. Gov. Yvonne Prettner Solon says she will announce her political plans Tuesday.

Prettner Solon met with Gov. Mark Dayton in a closed-door session Monday about whether she'll join him in a re-election run. She was wavering about whether to seek a new term along with Dayton. She said last week she arrived at a decision but wouldn't disclose it before meeting with Dayton.

The governor has refused to address the topic as long as Solon's decision was in limbo.

Prettner Solon has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday.

In 2010, the former state senator from Duluth was picked by then-Democratic candidate Mark Dayton to fill out his eventually successful ticket. In her term, she has led a task force on Capitol security and initiatives concentrating on senior citizens.
