MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced Sunday that the number of positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Minnesota has risen to 3,602. Twenty-eight more people also died, bringing the death total to 272. Meanwhile, Gov. Tim Walz on Saturday signed Executive Order 20-46, authorizing certain out-of-state healthcare professionals to provide aid in Minnesota during the COVID-19 peacetime emergency.
Here are the latest headlines in the COVID-19 pandemic:
- 9:32 p.m.: The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis has created an emergency relief campaign to "sustain the theater, support our artists and staff and ensure our ability to reopen in the strongest way possible."
- 9:26 p.m.: The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announces that most of Lake Harriet Parkway will not reopen to motor vehicles on Monday, April 27, but remain open to pedestrians through May 3.
- 5:47 p.m.: The annual "Back to the Fifties" auto event at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds is cancelled.
- 3:02 p.m.: Wisconsin health officials say there are now 5,911 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 272 deaths.
