Cops: 2 Californians Pulled Over In Stolen Car, Arrested
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in central Minnesota say they arrested two Californians over the weekend for auto theft, fraud and unlawfully possessing firearms.
The Waite Park Police Department said officers arrested Jeffrey Palmer and Chrisanna Gustafson on Sunday. Both suspects are 34 years old and from northern California.
Police say they got a call saying Palmer was trying to sell a stolen handgun and Gustafson was in possession of stolen car.
Investigating officers then pulled over the suspect car, which later turned out to belong to the city of St. Cloud.
Police say they arrested Palmer for being a felon in possession of a firearm and an outstanding drug warrant from California. Gustafson was arrested for auto theft, credit card fraud and an outstanding felony warrant.
The two could face even more charges, police say, because several stolen IDs, credit cards and key fobs were found in the stolen car.
The vehicle also contained several guns and merchandise believed to be purchased with the stolen credit cards.
Police say this case is still under investigation and that anyone with information is asked to call Waite Park police at 320-251-3281.
