Coal Train Derails In Northeast Minnesota
CLOQUET, Minn. (AP) -- Crews are cleaning up a coal train derailment in northeastern Minnesota.
Forty rail cars derailed near Cloquet around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. BNSF Railway spokeswoman Amy McBeth says several cars ended up on their sides near or partially in the frozen St. Louis River.
McBeth says crews have been clearing cars and repairing the track, and preparing a plan to remove the spilled coal and remaining derailed cars. She says BNSF estimates the track will be back in service Sunday night.
No one was hurt. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
