Children At HCMC Receive Bikes From Free Bikes 4 Kidz
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – As they fight to get healthier, 200 sick kids got an early holiday present.
All of the children are patients at Hennepin County Medical Center's Richfield Clinic.
Saturday, they got their own bicycle thanks to the Free Bikes 4 Kidz program.
"I actually started crying when they called me to help my grandsons have something for Christmas," Christine Cousino, whose grandson received a bike, said.
Many of the bikes are donated and then fixed up by volunteers.
The clinic's staff say along with being a great present for the children, it's also a good way for families to be active.
