Charges: South St. Paul Man Threatened Officers On Twitter
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 20-year-old South St. Paul man is accused of threatening to kill police and at least one officer with the Minnesota State Patrol on social media, according to charges filed Thursday in Dakota County Court.
Harrison William Rund was charged with felony terroristic threats in connection with the incident, which happened on Tuesday after receiving a speeding ticket.
According to the charges, Rund made multiple threats to kill South St. Paul Police and an officer with the Minnesota State Patrol through his Twitter account after getting a speeding ticket on Tuesday. He was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Ramsey County Jail.
Authorities said he'll be transported to the Dakota County Jail and is expected to appear in court either on Friday or Monday.
"Threats to harm police or law enforcement officials are always taken seriously and will not be tolerated," said Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom.
The case is still under investigation.
