Celebrate St. Patrick's Day In The Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's St. Patrick's Day and if you're looking for a place to go, we have a few ideas.
There will be two big St. Patrick's Day parades.
The first one is in St. Paul starting at noon.
That parade starts at Wacouta Street and rolls down Fifth Street to Rice Park.
Adam Johnson, with Visit St. Paul, said the city is full of well-known Irish bars. Even some of the Italian places, like Mancini's, will be O'Mancini's for the day.
Johnson adds that pretty much anywhere in downtown St. Paul will be a festive atmosphere.
Then come to downtown Minneapolis for a parade on Nicollet Mall. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and takes off from 12th Street, ending at 5th Street.
Also, WCCO's Jamie Yuccas is the grand marshal.
WCCO will be handing out some fun, green WCCO shirts and candy along the parade route.
Plus, there's good news if you plan to attend a St. Patrick's Day celebration using public transit. All light rail and bus routes in the Twin Cities are free.
Free rides being at 6 p.m. Tuesday and go until 3 a.m. Wednesday.
