Protesters Hold Candlelight Vigil For Castile On Summit Ave.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A portion of Summit Avenue in St. Paul closed again Monday morning as people came together over the weekend to remember Philando Castile.

A group called "Justice Occupation for Philando" hosted an event Sunday outside of the Governor's Mansion. They called it "Stand for Something Sunday."

It started at 4 p.m. and included music, dancing, spoken word and poetry. Later in the evening, the group held a candlelight vigil to honor Castile.

He was shot and killed by a St. Anthony police officer during a traffic stop earlier this month.

Overnight, the group watched a movie right on Summit Avenue.

Police were not arresting them.
