Carver Co. Sheriff: Beware Of Door-To-Door Tax Scammers
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Carver County Sheriff's office is warning metro residents of a door-to-door scammer posing as a Minnesota Department of Revenue agent.
Sheriff Jim Olson says the scammer is demanding people to pay back taxes immediately or they will call local law enforcement.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue will never demand payments without contacting people first. They also never require payment information over the phone and they never threaten to contact the police.
