Burnsville Police: Abduction Attempt Was False Alarm
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Burnsville police say a report of an attempted abduction last weekend turned out to be a false alarm – but the department is praising a young boy for reporting the encounter.
A citizen who read about the attempted abduction in a local paper contacted authorities to say they were the suspect. Police do not believe the person had any criminal intent when speaking with the boy, and say there is no threat to the public.
Burnsville Police Chief Eric Gieseke says the boy did the right thing by speaking up about the interaction.
"Any time something seems strange or out of place, it should be reported," Gieseke said. "If you see something, say something."
