Buses Replace LRT In DT Mpls. Overnight For Stadium Construction

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- While construction is almost finished at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, the light rail station outside still needs some work.

That's why buses will take the place of trains between Franklin Avenue and Target Field stations from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. on Monday, and also from June 12-15. Metro Transit officials say the buses will give construction crews space to build the planned pedestrian bridge at U.S. Bank Stadium.

According to Metro Transit's website, buses will begin replacing trains at certain stations about half an hour before the full shutdown so that tracks can be cleared in time.
