Police: Man Shot At Officers After Pursuit In Brooklyn Center

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is hospitalized after he fired a gun at police in Brooklyn Center after leading them on a chase Tuesday evening.

Police say it started at around 3 p.m. ago in Robbinsdale, when officers were called to check on a man in a vehicle who had a gun. When they found a car matching the description, the suspect tried to drive off.

Police chased him until stopping the vehicle at 4900 Brooklyn Boulevard. That's when they reported shots fired. The Hennepin County Sheriff's office says officers did not return fire, but did deploy "less lethal munitions."

No officers were hurt in the chase, but the driver was take to a hospital and treated for a gunshot wound.
