Bridgewater Says He'll Play In 1st U.S. Bank Stadium Game

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) — On one hand he plays the highest profile position in all sports in the state of Minnesota. Quarterback for the Vikings, on the other hand, it seems like it borders on ridiculous.

Apparent minor injuries are lead stories. Somewhere in there is Teddy Bridgewater right now. As Mike Max reports, his shoulder appears close to healed but "you'd have to ask the head coach."

Bridgewater took center stage with the media after practice Wednesday and was asked about plans for him playing Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

"That's a question I think coach Zimmer could answer better than I could," Bridgewater said.

He did seem to throw the ball better than even Tuesday, which would indicate he's able to do what he wants to do, maybe.

"That's another question that you're going to have to talk to coach Zimmer about," Bridgewater said with a laugh.

But what happened to get us to this point? Was it one blow or a gradual pain that grew more painful?

"That's something that you'll have to talk with coach Zimmer about and I think he can answer that question better than me," Bridgewater said.

Maybe the offensive coordinator can shed some light. What will we see from Teddy?

"Well I think you asked Teddy and Teddy told you to ask coach so I'll just stick with the company line alright?" Norv Turner said.

What we can tell you is what you can see. Bridgewater looks pretty strong and he wants to set the tone for this team every practice.

"Every day I try to work on just coming out and just setting the tempo at practice," Bridgewater said. "I feel like as the quarterback goes the team goes."

We can tell you he's had a good camp.

"I thought Teddy was really sharp in practice yesterday and very accurate, made quick decisions," Turner said.

And he's not concerned even if he doesn't get a lot of game reps.

"When you factor in all the meetings and all the practices and we had a joint practice with Cincinnati then the preseason game so I think I've been able to get some good things done," Bridgewater said.

In closing, Teddy can't say a lot about it but he can say enough.

"I feel good. I feel very good," Bridgewater said.
