Teenage boy killed, woman injured after shooting near Lake and Hiawatha in Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS — A 17-year-old boy is dead and a woman is injured after a shooting near Lake Street and Hiawatha Avenue. This is the second day in a row a shooting has taken place at this intersection.
The shooting happened just after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police arrived at the scene to find a boy with a life-threatening gunshot wound. EMS tried to save the man's life but were unable to.
They also found a woman in her 20s with non life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the shooting. They don't know yet if it's related to the shooting on Friday night.
On Sunday, the Metro Transit Police Department said it will assist Minneapolis police "to help them increase patrols and and the number of officers in that area."
