Teens shot in face, foot in separate north Minneapolis shootings
MINNEAPOLIS – Police say two teenagers were injured in separate shootings Wednesday evening in north Minneapolis.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of 24th Avenue North at about 5:47 p.m. after MPD's ShotSpotter system detected fully-automatic gunfire.
The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was found at the scene. He was taken to an area hospital, and his wounds are not considered life-threatening.
Police say "at least one vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed." No one else was reported injured. The investigation is on-going.
Less than three hours later, and less than two miles away, a teenage boy was shot in the foot. It happened at about 8:30 p.m. on the 900 block of Sheridan Avenue North. Police say the victim, who is believed to be 15, walked up to a residence to ask for help after being shot. He wasn't seriously injured. No was is in custody
