Investigation Underway After Boy, 12, Shot In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis police are investigating a weekend shooting that put a 12-year-old boy in the hospital.

Police say they responded to a call around 10:20 p.m. Friday in the 3400 block of Irving Avenue North.

Once there, officers didn't find anyone.

Later, 12-year-old Jamar Williams was dropped off at North Memorial Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

His mother says he was struck by a bullet has he was running to get into her car. She says it's going to take time for her son to fully heal.

Minneapolis police have been working through the weekend on the case.

So far, no arrests have been made.
