Body Found In Monticello ID'd As Missing St. Cloud Man
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The body of an adult male found in Monticello Sunday has been identified as that of the missing St. Cloud man Tyler Berg.
The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the identity on Tuesday morning.
Berg, 24, was last seen leaving his house in St. Cloud on the evening of Sunday, November 22.
On Nov. 23, his car was found abandoned near Otter Creek Park in Monticello. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, family, friends and community members joined in a search that covered 36-acres near Otter Creek Park.
Berg's family released a statement Tuesday thanking all of the people who joined in the effort to search for him.
"Tyler was a dad, son, friend, uncle, brother, cousin, grandson, and nephew. He had a huge heart and would often go to great lengths to bring out the best in others. He will be missed by everyone he came in contact with," his family said in the statement.
A fund has been set up to help Berg's family. To donate, visit his GoFundMe page.
The cause of Berg's death is still under investigation by Wright County Sheriff's Office.
