Big Ten Suspends Gophers' Seeler For 1 Game

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Big Ten Conference says Minnesota hockey player Nick Seeler has been suspended for one game.

The suspension was for an incident in the Gophers' game Sunday against St. Cloud State at Mariucci Arena. The conference announced the suspension Monday.

Seeler, a junior defenseman, was called for contacting the head of Huskies defenseman Niklas Nevalainen early in the second period. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Seeler was given a game misconduct and ejected.

The Big Ten says Seeler is ineligible to play in Minnesota's next game Dec. 4 against Ohio State.

St. Cloud State beat the Gophers 7-4 Sunday to sweep the weekend series.
