Big Lake Ice Fishing Tourney Canceled Due To Unseasonably Warm Weather
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says ice conditions are not safe enough for the Big Lake Ice Fishing Tournament.
On Tuesday, county officials say the event is being canceled due to the unseasonably warm weather that continues to weaken ice on the lakes, causing concern for safety.
Because of the projected unsafe ice conditions, the sheriff's office canceled the event's ice permit.
The event was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 18.
