Bicyclist Struck In Oak Park Heights Hit-And-Run Dies
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A bicyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday night was removed from life support Wednesday, according to her family.
Mai D. Yang and her husband, E Xiong, were hit by a driver on 60th Street North in Oak Park Heights, which is a frontage road along Highway 36.
Xue Xiong, Yang's brother-in-law, says she was already brain dead when paramedics arrived at the scene.
E Xiong survived, and underwent surgery to have titanium put in his legs. Xue Xiong says he has a long road of recovery ahead.
Yang and Xiong have a 16-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son.
