Bicyclist Dies In Oakdale SUV Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says 51-year-old John Ewers died in a bicycle accident around 3:30 p.m. Friday in Oakdale.
The White Bear Lake man crossed Highway 36 and Hadley Avenue in front of a GMC Yukon traveling eastbound, the state patrol says. The patrol says Ewers was not wearing a helmet and suffered fatal injuries.
The driver, 30-year-old Matthew Turner from Mahtomedi, was wearing a seat belt and suffered no injuries. The state patrol says no alcohol was involved for either party and road conditions were dry.
