St. Paul Public Schools (SPPS) offers music immersion for budding Beethovens. Where else can children learn keyboard, voice and violin in kindergarten, first and second grade? Students in third, fourth and fifth grades may join the chorus, learn keyboard or play their own choice of string or wind instrument in orchestra. In addition to the emphasis on music, there is 60 minutes of math and 90 minutes of reading every day. Students also have access to dental care, housing assistance and employment assistance through Achievement Plus, a private-public partnership between SPPS and the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation.
