Banged Up Vikings Don't Have Time To Dwell On Loss To Seattle
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings are still tied for first with the Packers at 8-4, but it sure doesn't feel that way.
Not after getting manhandled Sunday at TCF Bank Stadium by Seattle. From quarterback Teddy Bridgewater looking scared, according to a Seattle linebacker, to an injury-ravaged and pourous defense, it quickly snowballed out of control.
But it is a quick page turn for the Vikings, still feeling the sting of the Seahawks. They had to game plan for Arizona and Thursday night, starting Monday. Mike Max paid a visit to Winter Park.
You can't help by get your confidence dinged a bit. It's not just losing, but how you lost, getting dominated all day.
"We move on whether it's a loss, whether it's a win. We put it behind us and move onto the next opponent because what we understand is you can't get too high on a win and you can't get too low on a loss," defensive end Brian Robison said. "Because it will affect you the next week."
Next up: The bounce back, but that's not easy. Not when you're going on the road on Thursday night to play one of the best teams in the NFC, and a team that seems to be hitting its stride.
The Arizona Cardinals looked Sunday like, well, the Seattle Seahawks. Yes, they were that good.
"They're a great football team. I think they've shown that throughout the course of the whole year," tight end Kyle Rudolph said. "As you follow them throughout the year they've played great football up to this point."
So the vibe has changed much for the first place Vikings, but right now they know all they can do is believe they are good enough win a title, and win in Arizona on a short week.
"I'm not glad it's a short week. I'd rather play these boys on Sunday but what can you do?" Sharrif Floyd said. "So we're going to get ready."
