Twins Ball Boy Makes Incredible Catch, Saves Fan

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Twins ball boy made a highlight reel-worthy play Tuesday night when he jumped to catch a ball on a hard trajectory for a young fan's face.

The diving catch happened after Orioles outfielder Joey Rickard hit a line drive in the ninth inning along the right side of the field. The ball boy, whose job it is to catch foul balls and protect fans from getting drilled by a laser, responded immediately to the call of duty.

The ball boy leaped over a fence, caught a ball just inches from a fan's face and then casually tossed the ball to a nearby child.

The catch could have well been the best one in all baseball Tuesday night.

As for the Twins, they lost to Baltimore, 5-3.
