Bail Upped To $125K For Man Accused Of St. Croix River Stabbing
BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (AP) -- A Minnesota man accused in a fatal stabbing along the St. Croix River was in court again Thursday to face accusations he violated the terms of his original bond.
Levi Acre-Kendall is accused in the fatal stabbing of 34-year-old Peter Kelly, of St. Croix Falls. Kelly was stabbed after a verbal altercation with Acre-Kendall and others who were on the Wisconsin side of the river at Interstate Park on April 14, charges state.
Acre-Kendall has pleaded not guilty to first-degree reckless homicide.
On Thursday, bond was set at $125,000 for Acre-Kendall to get out of jail. He can have no use of social media.
The terms of his original bond also stipulated no usage of social media. Authorities said upon his release from jail on May 7, he tweeted: "If you are praying for me, please keep the Kelly family in mind as well, I never intended for this to happen and I wish it never did."
Prosecutors said he tweeted a total of 32 times after his release, including one tweet that read, "Going to Chipotle to gain back 15 pounds I lost."
