Authorities Investigating 2 Fatal Crashes In St. Louis County
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are investigating separate crashes in northern Minnesota on Sunday that both involved fatalities.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a two vehicle crash involving three people at about 12:29 p.m. on Highway 169 in St. Louis County. A 1993 Chevy was heading southbound on Highway 169 when a 2002 Buick LeSabre turned from a parking lot to head north on Highway 169.
The two vehicles collided, resulting in at least one fatality.
The State Patrol also responded to a crash at about 3 p.m. on Highway 53 in St. Louis County. A 1999 Chevy K15 was heading southbound on Highway 53 when it veered towards the west ditch, corrected, then over-corrected in a spot where it caught on asphalt and rolled.
Authorities say one person was ejected from the vehicle, resulting in a fatality. The driver and another passenger were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The victims in both crashes have not been identified, and both incidents are under investigation.
