Authorities: Case Of Missing Wright Co. Man Is Now A Death Investigation
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said they are now treating the case of a missing Wright County man as a death investigation.
According to Sheriff Joe Hagerty, authorities discovered evidence during a search in Hutchinson that led them to believe the disappearance of Christopher Rossing is now a death investigation.
Christopher Rossing was last seen alive in the early morning hours of Aug, 23 as he was leaving Trouble's Bar and Restaurant in Howard Lake. He had been out for a night of drinking and left with Robert Nuttall when there had been an argument between Nuttall and his girlfriend, Gwen Butcher.
On Monday, Oct. 13 the Wright County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at Butcher and Nuttall's home in the 22000 block of 150th Street in Hutchinson.
Authorities said they found evidence of human remains. Bone fragments and teeth were found in a fire pit located at the home.
More remains were found in a corn field across the street.
The human remains were sent to the Anoka County Medical Examiner's Office and the MN BCA Lab for analysis.
Both Butcher and Nuttall have been formerly charged in connection with the disappearance of Rossing, but police believe additional people were involved.
