Arrest Made In Duluth Fatal Hit & Run

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Duluth police say they've arrested the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a woman walking near Twin Ponds.

Authorities say 60-year-old Susan Legarde-Menz was struck about 6 p.m. Tuesday by a vehicle that veered off the road that separates the two ponds and landed in the water. The driver fled on foot. The woman was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth where she died of her injuries.

Police later arrested a 30-year-old man for the fatal crash. He's being held in the St. Louis County Jail.
