Man Arrested After Body Found In Burning Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An Audobon man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman who was found inside a burning house in Moorhead earlier this week.

According to Moorhead Fire and Police Departments, just before 9 a.m. Tuesday crews responded to a call of an active house fire in the 1010 block of 11th Avenue South.

After extinguishing the flames, crews found a woman's body. Her identity has not yet been released, pending results from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

However, authorities did say that she died as a result of an assault prior to the fire.

On Friday, Moorhead officials said that they had taken 38-year-old Justin Marshal Critt into custody, and he was being held in connection with the case as well as on a felony warrant for robbery.

Police and fire crews said they believe the fire was due to arson.

Investigators are still working on the case, and ask anyone with information to contact them at 701-451-7660.
