Apartment Complex Proposed Over Historic Mpls. Building

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Downtown Minneapolis could soon have a new 18-story apartment complex right by WCCO-TV studios.

According to the Twin Cities Business Journal, a plan has been submitted for the nearly 300-unit complex at the intersection of South 10th Street and Marquette Avenue.

One of three buildings on the site, the 108-year-old Handicraft Guild building, would be preserved.

Plans show that building would be part of a ground floor restaurant, leasing office and fitness center.

Residents can learn more at a city planning commission committee of the whole meeting next Thursday.
