AP To Go Solo From Vikings In Pro Bowl

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Running back Adrian Peterson has been picked for the Pro Bowl, the only Minnesota Vikings representative this year.

The rosters were announced Tuesday, and the selection of the NFL rushing leader was no surprise. This was the seventh time in nine seasons that Peterson was picked, tying him for the fourth-most selections in Vikings history. Randall McDaniel had 11, Alan Page had nine, Cris Carter had eight and Ron Yary also had seven.

For the third straight year, the Pro Bowl team was picked without respect to the two conferences. Pro Bowl captains Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin will draft players for each team, four days before the annual All-Star game takes place Jan. 31 in Hawaii.
