Anoka Hosts Annual Halloween Parade

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's still a week away, but Halloween celebrations were already underway in Anoka Saturday.

The self-proclaimed Halloween Capitol of the World got a jump start on the season.

Thousands of people dressed up and lined the streets for the Anoka Halloween Parade.

This is the 94th year for the parade.

WCCO's own Jason DeRusha was the Grand Marshal.

Anoka is called the Halloween Capital of the world because, supposedly, they threw the first celebration back in 1920.
