Shelter In Place Lifted In Andover After Burglary Suspect Flees Deputies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Anoka County Sheriff's Office lifted a shelter-in-place order Tuesday afternoon after a suspect who may be armed fled deputies in Andover.

The traffic stop happened at about 2:16 p.m. on the 14200 block of Hanson Boulevard, when a man wanted in connection for a burglary in Hennepin County ran from his vehicle in the direction of Andover Boulevard and Kildeer Street -- triggering an air-and-ground search.

Authorities say the man is still at large, but they don't believe there is any "danger to the general public."

The shelter-in-place order was in effect for about 30 minutes. The sheriff's office says an emergency alert about the incident was accidentally sent to all Anoka County residents instead of just people who live in that section of Andover.
