Amazon Offering 1-Hour Shipping For Twin Cities Last-Minute Holiday Shoppers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The holidays are a peak shopping time for Amazon and today it showed off its Prime Now hub in Minneapolis.

Amazon says it's Prime home is a procrastinator's dream.

The center is home to tens of thousands of items that can be delivered in an hour or less, right up until 11:59 on Christmas Eve. Amazon Prime employees navigate aisles full of products and packages for customers who have downloaded the app. There are all kinds of things in the center for people to buy.

"Eveything from groceries and houselhold items that you need, to last minute holiday essentials like wrapping paper and batteries and stocking stuffers, too," Amazon spokesperson Leah Bibbo said. "And, of course, great gifts from electronics to toys and games for the family."

Amazon recently added more than four-thousand gift-giving and holiday items to Prime Now. Since launching Prime Now last year, it has expanded the service to more than 20 metropolitan areas across the U.S.
